Most agencies dodge this question. Here's a straight answer about how Shopify CRO is actually priced and what should be included.
The Three Common Pricing Models
Audit-only: a one-off diagnostic report. Often free or low cost, because it's how agencies win implementation work. Ours is free.
Fixed-scope project: priced against a defined list of fixes — product page rebuild, mobile UX pass, checkout cleanup. Best value for most stores.
Retainer: continuous testing and iteration. Only worth it above roughly 50,000 monthly sessions, where you have enough traffic for meaningful tests.
What Should Always Be Included
A prioritized roadmap (not a 60-page PDF), the expected revenue impact of each fix, a recorded baseline, and a before/after measurement. If an agency won't record a baseline, they can't prove a result.
Red Flags in a CRO Quote
Guaranteed percentage lifts, long lock-in contracts before an audit, "we'll redesign everything" as the first recommendation, and no mention of how success will be measured.
Judging the Return
Take your current monthly revenue, model the same traffic at a 0.5-point higher conversion rate, and compare that annual delta with the project cost. For most stores doing real volume, one recovered checkout percentage point pays for the work several times over.
